UtilitySafe to Power PPL Compliance Program

ATLANTA- July 23, 2010 -PPL Corporation (PPL) is the latest electric company to join UtilitySafe – a
unique service from e-VERIFILE.COM Inc. that assists companies that must comply with NERC Critical
Infrastructure Protection (CIP) standards with workforce screening, training and cyber security awareness.
PPL is the second electric company to utilize the service since it was launched a few months ago.
Headquartered in Allentown, Pa., PPL owns or controls nearly 12,000 megawatts of generating capacity in
the United States, sells energy in key U.S. markets and delivers electricity to about 4 million customers in
Pennsylvania and the United Kingdom.

UtilitySafe facilitates routine workplace management processes through programs that organizations can
create and implement via the system. Organizations can register their contractors, administer compliance
training/testing, require personnel background checks and more through each program. The entire process is
managed from one web-based platform which is accessible via utilitysafe.com. The service requires no
additional software or equipment and can be securely accessed from any PC.
