Developers of e-RAILSAFE Joins Organization for Short Line Railroads

ATLANTA- 06-04-08 e-VERIFILE.COM Inc., the developers of the railroad industry's premiere Safety and Security program known as e-RAILSAFE, is pleased to announce that it has joined the American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association (ASLRRA). In addition to joining the organization, e-VERIFILE will also serve on the ASLRRA Police Committee, which guides members on issues and best practices surrounding safety, security, and law enforcement initiatives.
"The security issues facing the railroad industry today are really the same, regardless of size," says Devon Wijesinghe, Chief Strategy Officer at e-VERIFILE.COM Inc. "We are honored to join ASLRRA and look forward to brining our Class 1 experience to the America's Short Lines," added Wijesinghe.
e-VERIFILE.COM Inc. has an extensive track record in the transportation industry having served some of the nation's largest transportation logistics and trucking companies. In addition to ASLRRA, the company is a member of the American Trucking Associations, American Public Transportation Association and works with the Association of American Railroads (AAR) in partnership with their railroad members.
In 2005 the company was selected by several U.S. and Canadian Class 1 railroads to develop e-RAILSAFE- -an industry wide security and safety initiative that facilitates safety orientation, background screening, credentialing and tracking of railroad contractors and their employees. e-VERIFILE.COM is launching a similar initiative for other industries like mass transit that are seeking to enhance their Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) efforts.
