The Alton & Southern Railway on board with e-RAILSAFE-SHORTLINE

ATLANTA - January 25, 2012 -- Atlanta’s e-VERIFILE.COM Inc, s pleased to announce that it has signed The Alton & Southern Railway (ALS) to its service, e-RAILSAFE SHORTLINE -- a web-based solution that assists Short Line and Regional Railroad operators with routine workforce safety and security management.

Owned by Class I Railroad, Union Pacific, ALS is a switching railroad that is a vital transportation artery in the St. Louis area with an average of 2100 cars humped and more than 3500 cars classified each day.

ALS is expected to use ERS-ShortLine to ensure greater security and safety compliance amongst its contractor workforce. "I conducted a blind test with several background investigation companies.  e-VERIFILE’s e-RAILSAFE SHORTLINE came out number 1", says Gary T. Lottmann, Chief of Police at ALS. "They were 100% accurate and that is most important when conducting a background investigation.  They were efficient, fast and customer oriented," Lottmann added.

Based on the successful e-RAILSAFE service for Class 1 Railroads, ERS-ShortLine enables short line railroad operators like ALS to easily facilitate personnel screening, compliance awareness and workplace credentialing for their employees and contractors via Compliance Programs that they create at ers-shortline.com.

Employees and Contractors that are required to participate by their railroad employers, subscribe to ERS-ShortLine, enroll in the appropriate program and complete the required tasks to determine their eligibility to access key worksites and facilities.

Short Line and Regional Railroads and their contractors can manage the entire process from one, easy-to-use, web-based platform. No additional software or equipment is required and the system can be securely accessed from any PC, anywhere at any time.
